Who Are You?

You might be wondering, who am I, and why do I want to do this?

I remember standing in a classroom in Peru, and as I spoke to the students about not wanting to see them selling clothes in the streets, or driving collectivos (taxis), I cried. I knew that I could return to the UK, where I studied, or Singapore, where I was born. But I didn’t know what would happen to them after I had left for home.

That is why gutenhag was born. Through sharing my experiences, I hope to inspire others to be the change they want to see. Through writing my thoughts, I hope social work can be transformed from its problem-focused approach to a solution-focused approach. Through writing, I hope to refine my thoughts on the world, and use them to create a better world.

I believe that everyone has a unique voice they can share with the rest of the world. That is why I train people to grow in their confidence in public speaking. I believe your story is worth sharing. It is by unlocking your voice that we can begin to see a better world.

My name is John.
